This Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information notice (the "DSMI Notice") describes your right under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"), and analogous laws in other U.S. states, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information by the operator of confidentinvestor.org (the "Site"), VRMLC LLC (the "Publisher," "we," or "us"). It is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Defined terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in our Privacy Policy or in the CCPA and the regulations promulgated by the California Privacy Protection Agency at 11 C.C.R. §§ 7000 et seq. (the "CCPA Regulations").
Under CCPA § 1798.140, "sharing" means disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not money is exchanged. "Sale" has its statutory meaning.
The Site uses third-party advertising and analytics tags whose operation constitutes "sharing" under the CCPA:
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration in the ordinary sense. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 years of age, and we do not collect Sensitive Personal Information as defined in CCPA § 1798.140(ae).
The categories of personal information we share for cross-context behavioral advertising are: identifiers (cookie IDs, mobile advertising IDs, IP address); internet or other electronic network-activity information (pages viewed, clicks, referring URL, approximate geolocation derived from IP); and commercial information (Site interaction). We share these categories with the third parties named above. We retain Site-interaction data and tag-related identifiers for the periods described in the retention table in our Privacy Policy.
You have the right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information. You can exercise this right at any time, free of charge, and without creating an account. We will honor a valid opt-out within fifteen (15) business days of receipt, consistent with 11 C.C.R. § 7026(f)(2).
Once we receive a valid opt-out, we will keep your opt-out preference on file for at least twelve (12) months before asking you to authorize the sale or sharing of your personal information again, consistent with 11 C.C.R. § 7026(f)(3).
This DSMI Notice and the opt-out mechanisms it describes apply equally to residents of California and to residents of other U.S. states with analogous "opt-out of targeted advertising" rights, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island, Montana, Iowa, Tennessee, and Texas (collectively, the "Other State Laws"), to the extent those laws apply to us.
You can submit an opt-out request through any of the following methods:
(a) Web form (preferred). Use the form on this page (the "Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing" form below). No account is required. You may submit your email address only if you would like a written confirmation; otherwise we will set a browser-level opt-out cookie that suppresses sharing on the device and browser from which you submit.
(b) Email. Send a request to info@confidentinvestor.org with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share — Opt-Out" and identify the email address(es), browser(s), or device(s) for which you are requesting an opt-out.
(c) Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing under 11 C.C.R. § 7025. If your browser or browser extension sends a GPC signal when you visit the Site, we treat that signal as an opt-out request from your browser and device. You do not need to submit a separate request. When we detect GPC on a visit, the Site will display a visible on-screen confirmation toast stating "Opt-out preference signal honored," consistent with the CCPA Regulations effective January 1, 2026.
(d) Cookie preferences. Open the Site's cookie-preferences panel (linked from the footer and from the cookie banner) and toggle off "Advertising Cookies" and "Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising." Saving these preferences will suppress the Meta Pixel, Microsoft UET, and Google ad-personalization tags on the device and browser used.
Legacy "Do Not Track" signals. The Site does not respond to legacy "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser headers, which are not standardized. We honor the Global Privacy Control as described above as the opt-out signal under CCPA and Other State Laws.
We do not require account creation to submit an opt-out. For opt-out requests submitted by web form, email, GPC, or cookie preferences, we generally do not need to verify your identity, because the request is to stop processing rather than to access or delete data, consistent with 11 C.C.R. § 7026(g). We may, however, deny or seek clarification of a request if we have a good-faith, documented basis to believe the request is fraudulent.
For requests to access, delete, correct, or port personal information (which are submitted under our Privacy Policy and not this DSMI Notice), we follow the verification standards in 11 C.C.R. §§ 7060–7062.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit an opt-out request on your behalf, consistent with 11 C.C.R. § 7063. To do so:
We will not deny a request submitted by an authorized agent solely because they used a recognized opt-out preference signal (such as GPC) on your behalf.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right under the CCPA or analogous Other State Laws, including by denying you access to the Site, charging you a different price for use of the Site, or providing you a different level or quality of service, consistent with CCPA § 1798.125. We do not offer financial incentives in exchange for the sale or sharing of personal information.
In addition to the right to opt out of sale and sharing, you may also have the right to (a) know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; (b) access and obtain a copy of your personal information in a portable format; (c) correct inaccurate personal information; (d) delete personal information; and (e) for residents of states whose laws provide it, appeal a denial of a privacy request within sixty (60) days. To exercise these rights, or to appeal a denial, see the "Your Privacy Rights" section of our Privacy Policy or email info@confidentinvestor.org.
We may update this DSMI Notice from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced by a banner notice on the Site for at least thirty (30) days before they take effect.
Questions or requests under this DSMI Notice should be directed to:
Submitting this form will (i) set a browser-level opt-out cookie on this device and browser, and (ii) suppress the Meta Pixel, Microsoft / Bing UET, and Google ad-personalization tags on subsequent page loads from this browser. If you provide an email address, we will send a written confirmation within fifteen (15) business days.
If the form does not open your email client, send the same information directly to info@confidentinvestor.org with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share — Opt-Out".
